Beyond Darklands

Beneficiaries

Darklands supports events and elections by donating prizes or taking adverts in event program guides.

Supporting the community

Darklands supports events and elections by donating prizes or taking adverts in event program guides. Titleholder elections are usually sponsored with prizes for the winner, and first and second runners up.

On several occasions we have also donated a small amount for the titleholder’s travel fund and/or offered tokens for the upcoming Darklands.

The events we’ve supported were sometimes given free advertising in the Darklands program magazine. In some cases, mutual support agreements have been made to exchange ads and cooperate in other promotions for the support of their event and Darklands.

In addition to events and elections, Darkands and We Are One also support clubs and organizations by offering them free booth space at our vendor market. This way, fetish clubs can promote themselves and even raise money to cover their operational costs. For example, MSC Belgium organizes a second-hand market at Darklands which has become the club’s most important source of funding.

In 2016, the We Are One foundation was established. Over the Darklands weekend, WR1 collects donations from visitors which is then split evenly between the new titleholders elected during the event and a charity organization. Over the past years, donations of € 7.500 (2022), €13.026 (2023) and €6.589 (2024) we’re collected and shared amongst all charities and the titleholder’s travel fund so they can take part in international elections and support their fetish community during their title year

Get support for your election or event

If you are organising a fetish community event or title election then Darklands is looking forward to support you. Send an e-mail to info@darklands.com including the event / election details and we’ll get back to you to sort things out.

The only thing we ask in return is that you mention Darklands proportionally in your communication and at the event / election itself. We can provide you with the Darklands logo.

Main beneficiary of 2025

The LA&M is one of the most significant accomplishments of the late 20th century movement for the rights, dignity, improved status, and self-acceptance of the leather and kink populations. The museum recently launched a campaign to raise $ 2 million for much-needed renovations including making the entire collection wheelchair accessible.

Darklands has donated a first amount of $ 5000 to be followed by a donation of the money raised by WR1 this year.
