Kink Responsibly

Kink Responsibly: Prioritise Sexual Health And Mental Well-Being

Embracing the (sex) life you desire can be both exhilarating and challenging. While casual sex can be enjoyable, it may also bring about concerns such as STIs, (controlling) chem use, and maintaining consensual sex when under the influence of chems. You might have encountered some of the less glamorous aspects of a liberated sex life.

Darklands Festival is joining forces with over ten Belgian healthcare, support and community organisations to raise awareness and offer guidance on three critical themes related to sexual health and mental well-being: sexually transmitted infections (STIs), drug or chem use, and mental health.

Consider the following questions:

  • Do you want to be able to recognise the symptoms of different STIs?
  • Are you curious about PrEP, DoxyPEP, vaccinations, and other ways to protect yourself against STIs?
  • Do you use chems during sex and want to understand their interactions with other chems or medications?
  • Do you find it hard to stop using chems once you start?
  • Do you sometimes experience feelings of depression and hope to find ways to cope with these feelings?
  • Is anxiety affecting your lifestyle?

If any of these questions resonate with you, or if you’re simply curious to learn more, we are happy to provide support, answer your questions, and offer resources to help you navigate these important aspects of your life.
